Hey everyone! Our card today is quite a good one:

Today I Will Own My Own Power and Be Direct

Our message for the day is to be clear and honest in your dealings with other people and to be comfortable in your own truth because then those around you will be comfortable with you too. This card is perfect for me today as I have been in a quandry over what to do with a project and a how to handle the specific situation. I initiated the project and since then there have been a number of new developments on my end. I keep thinking I can make the project work but I came to the realization this morning that I won’t be able to move it forward without conflict. I have lost some sleep on it and at this point I get the fun of being direct.

Is there someone of something that you need to be direct about in your life?

Being direct doesn’t mean being rude and nasty. You can be polite and tactful while being direct.

Until next time,

Hi there everyone. Today’s card reads:

Today I will consider whether a deadline might be helpful in some area of my life.

I will venture to guess that as a business owner you face a lot of deadlines. I know I do. While some of the deadlines are a requirement i.e., file and pay licensing fees, pay staff, pay bills, etc some are more arbitrary, i.e., I will clean my office by Sunday, I will finish that report by tomorrow, I will….

When the Sunday or tomorrow come and we haven’t completed our task some of us feel bad and some of us add another day to the deadline. When setting deadlines, be realistic and set an expectation that you can meet. I’ll clean the “left side” of the office by Sunday. Then move to the “right side” by another deadline time. Working in chunks may work for you if you try it.

Another area where you may want to set a deadline is around your health. For example, a lot of people who want to lose weight try to do so quickly only to find they gain the weight back just as quickly. Instead by setting a more realistic goal and deadline, one can lose the weight and keep it off.

Deadlines can help us resolve issues in our life. Some big, some small.

Where in your life are you needing to set a deadline?

Make it an terrific day!

Hey there! I’m back with Day 4. We are finally getting some nice weather here in the Pacific Northwest and I sure am glad to see the sunshine. The words of encouragement I have for you today are the following:

Today I will act “as if” ( in a positive form)

The card continues on to talk about “acting as if” is a good way to get past a part of a problem or overcome fears and doubts and acting as if the situation is resolved. Now, if you’re in a tough spot financially with this economy, pretending it isn’t so is not what we’re talking about. We’re shifting the mindset instead from one of fear to positivity. We’re talking about the idea and concept we’ve heard so many times: What would you do if you could not fail?

For example, some people have a great fear of public speaking and before a presentation they visualize themselves giving their presentation in front of the crowd. Or a sports athlete envisions winning and psyches themself up.

While we cannot run from nor ignore our challenges in life taking a few minutes to shift your mindset into a positive area and work on removing fear and doubt will help us go a long way.

Where are you needing to act “as if” in your life?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
