You Have to Want It For Yourself – No Excuses Summit 2010 – Day 1
Posted by: | CommentsI arrived in Las Vegas, NV yesterday to attend this weekend’s No Excuses Summit. http://www.noexcusessummit.com. If you are an internet marketer, network marketer or both, this is the place to be. I’m here with hundreds of people (almost 900) to learn as many additional tips, tools and techniques as possible to help my business and the business of others using the power of the internet.
And you know what? Day 1 did not disappoint. Far from it.
A jam packed evening of sessions followed by social time allowed for learning from the speakers and each other as we let our defenses down and began to share and mastermind. I knew I had to be here but I wasn’t sure what to expect. Day 1 delivered.
I’ve been to seminars before and have seen my share of good and bad speakers.
I wondered what the sessions would be like and what I could learn. After all, many of the top income internet marketing and network marketing earners make HUGE amounts of money, and while they may tell us they care about us in videos and blog posts, you cannot help but sometimes wonder, is that all for show? Do they really mean it when the words “I want to help you and your business” or do they just want me to buy their new product?
My answer to that is: ABSOLUTELY – They are authentic in their caring.
Only a handful of speakers have spoken so far and I could feel their caring in their presentations. The energy in the room was one of gratitude and you could feel some of the humbleness. However, Like my personal training always tells me “No pain no gain” or “If it doesn’t hurt at least a little you’re not working hard enough to build your muscles”.
Takeaway #1: This will be work, and this won’t be easy everyday, so get your mindset on right because this isn’t about handholding. You have to want it for yourself and until you do you’ll be stalled. Your sponsor cannot, will not and should not do it for you. Your coach can only guide you in your business, you have to do the work.
Takeaway #2: There are no excuses why you cannot do what top earners have done and this weekend we will begin to break down the blockages. We can show you the tools, but you have to find what suits you and apply them because everyone is different.
The one on one/small group time just hanging out with leaders and like minded folks was terrific. The willingness and openness in discussions of what has worked and what hasn’t was great and the coaching we were able to do with one another as we evaluate where we are in the process was pretty cool. I could see transformations happening around me.
Some people will decide to go back to their J-O-B and be perfectly happy. Others will decide it is time to take their businesses to the next level and make it happen.
Either way – the process is working. And that is the point.
Time to head off to Day 2. I’ll report back soon.

Posted by: | CommentsI like and enjoy success and money, in more ways than one. There, I said it. The cat is out of the bag. I like nice things like my boat and my house. I like my vacations and most of all, I love my life.
A very successful friend made the comment the other day to me that, “The best way to help the poor, is to not be one of them”. That may sound bad at first but the reality is that he is right. And the more I thought about that statement the more I felt compelled to write this post and shoot this video. I had to get this off my chest.
I like success and money because they allow me to be and do what I really want in the world without the worry and frustration that goes along with the lack mentality. What I really am passionate about in the world is help others and spend my time giving.
Fact: The more money I have the more time and money I can give. I’m willing to work hard to make this happen so I can be in my true purpose of Creative Service, Joyful Kindness and Faithful Freedom. Money helps people.
By now if you’re a regular reader you know I am a positive person who cares about inspiring others. I love my family and I love my freedom and flexibility of self employment/network marketing and entrepreneurship. I spend a lot of time giving in my community and I spend a lot of time on business and with my family. You also know it wasn’t always easy for me. There have been ups and downs and good and bad times.
I’ve persevered because I am driven, focused and sometimes told I am intense. Well, I am who I am and I am this way because I care deeply about people and helping others lead better lives and I am not going to quit while I have the opportunity to do that.
I have a couple of questions for you:
If money wasn’t an obstacle who would you want to be in the world? (I just told you part of who I am and what I do in the world)
If you had the opportunity toremove money as an obstacle, would you do the work and take it? (I absolutely did and would).
I’ve told you I LIKE Money. Now I’m going to tell you why I choose to SELL Money. Selling something everyone wants more of is a no-brainer to me. And let’s face it, we all sell good and services in one way shape or form. I’m choosing Money. The more money I attract to me the more money I can give.
I always have my nose in the air for opportunity but when I wasn’t even looking things happened and I started paying attention to signals.
On the radio and on the news, people were talking about Money, and Gold and Silver and “the new economy”.
There I was going about my business, when I stumbled across a message from an industry leader which went straight to my gut. My intuition told me I had to find out more. Over the course of a few days I did my due diligence and investigation. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears that this opportunity fell in my lap. My gut was saying, “This is a tremendous opportunity that God/The Universe has placed in front of you. What are you gonna do now?” Every ounce of my being was called to Numis. I’d ignored my gut before and gotten burned, there was no way I wanted that to happen again.
I take leaps of faith. After all, part of my purpose is to live in Faithful Freedom.
What are you willing to do to be, do and have in the World? Are you willing to work a few extra hours a day or a week? Are you willing to work a lot of extra hours to get there faster? I can help you and show you how. You just have to want it.
Remember the saying: Good things come to those who wait, but only things left by those who hustle. Call me if you want to work with leaders who will mentor and teach you. Don’t sit on the sidelines of your life anymore. It’s time to get in the game.

Efficiency:The Value of Working With A Freelancer or Outside Agent
Posted by: | CommentsI am the type of person that multitasks well on most days and loves to jump into new projects. Sometimes I get my hands into too many things at once and find myself in the realm of overwhelm. Sound Familiar?
Lately, there have been a lot of little projects that have been part of the bigger picture of growing my businesses. While I know I am perfectly capable of handling the tasks at hand I have found that there are times when it pays to pay for help. After all, time is money!
I know I can tackle new things and I enjoy it. It might take me double the time to complete a project that I could hire someone for a reasonable fee to finish faster and probably better but I could do it.
For example, in the process of incorprating my new company I could just as easily have gone to the Secretary of State’s website, downloaded all of the forms, (after figuring out which ones I needed) completed them, submitted them, processed payments and additional documents, etc. You get the idea. Not a difficult project but definitely a time consuming one. After all, I’d want to make sure I completed everything properly because you don’t want to mess up on stuff like this. You with me still? So, here’s what I did.
I went and hired one of the online incorporation service companies that I talked about in a previous post. I spent my few hundred dollars and within about 20 minutes I was on my way. Within about 3 days, my new corporation was formed and I had spent 20 minutes instead of X hours. I saved myself hours of work and probably some headache by being willing to spend a little bit of money to have a professional take care of things. After all, they do this in their sleep, right?
Another example is an upcoming 30 second video for one of my websites. I have friends who do videos all the time for their business.
I have no doubt I could figure it out in short order, ok, a few hours at least, but I have the skills to get it done and am willing to try. While I was thinking about this, something popped onto my radar screen.
Sure enough, one of my contacts just launced a video service that helps entrepreneurs. For $30 he will create a 30 second video for Independent folks which can be displayed on websites or YouTube. Just what I needed! (BTW, He does have other offerings as well for longer pieces). I didn’t have to think long about my choice: Pay $30 or spend hours figuring things out? I decided to pay $30 and use my time for other tasks at hand.
As entrepreneurs our budget is often times linked to our own bank accounts – which can mean our ability to eat, pay rent, or put gas in the car. I am not advocating going out and blowing your rent money all in one full swoop on some new marketing thing or on hiring someone to do what you can and are willing to do. By all means, if it means food on the table or having someone else fill out forms for you – put food on the table and then spend your time filling out the forms after dinner.
What I’m talking about is looking around for opportunities that will help you grow your business through efficiency. You can budget for these items or sometimes take a leap when a good deal passes into your sphere. Like my video choice.
As the president, the accounting department, HR, and the janitor we run the risk of burning out before our success actually hits. Don’t give up. Keep your chin up and look for ways to leverage your time.
After all, there are only 24 hours in the day – and our bodies really do need sleep!
Carpe Diem!
