It has been a while since I’ve written a blog post my dear readers. I took the first quarter of 2011 off from writing. I didn’t mean to, it just happened. The break started when in January I was working on a revamp of this site. I welcomed my website’s first birthday in December and decided to give her a little makeover over the course of the month. Well, life happened and January came and went while I helped a lot of people grow their business and put my projects to the side.
I then set out with the best of intentions for February. I was on track, had done some strategy layout for the site and was ready to implement and make the changes. The weekend I went away for some creative computer time my hubby ended up in the hospital and I had to rush home. The next couple of weeks were a blur as I processed life and worked with my clients – my site still untouched. I vowed to get back on track.
March then came along. One of the projects I was working on was coming to fruition (more on that later) and while I was completing on that one of my best friends was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer out of the blue after a routine doctor visit. My family stepped in to help her family and other items were put on hold or moved slower.
I don’t tell you this as a sob story or for you to feel bad for me. I share so you know what’s been going on and I tell you this because Life Happens and gets in our way even when we’re getting in our own way already.
Well, it is April 1st and I’ve decided this is a fine time for a reset and to get back into action here.
Spring cleaning. Easter. Rebirth of Christ. Whatever you want to call it and whatever motivates you, it is time to start taking action again. (Don’t get me wrong, I have been taking some action over the past few months, just not my normal speed of action).
I have two posts to share for you from friends I admire and trust. They’ve helped me this week and I hope they help you.
Val Wilcox on Getting Out Of Your Own Way
Jonathan Budd on Getting Results
Please take a few minutes to let me know how you’re doing and what you’re up to in the comment section.
I’ve missed you dear friends and readers and I look forward to reconnecting at a greater level in 2011.
Much love to you all!
VaNessa,
There are times we all pull back and evaluate our progress and direction. But, like you’ve said, getting results means taking action. Whether it’s big steps or small, keeping the momentum going is key.
Learning to flow with life’s changes is an important component. You’ve done what needed to be done at that time and never lost sight of your goals. That’s huge!
Thanks for the mention, I appreciate you 🙂
Val 🙂
Val, you were my inspiration this week. V-
Great to see you back on the track, even at a slow pace at least your moving. Family and friends are life’s precious things. Cherish them first.
Bill
Thanks Bill. Life is precious and sometimes we get smacked over the head with wakeup calls.
VaNessa,
I’m glad to see that things are settling down for you. I know you have been running hard over the past few months. I look forward to the new level that you are stepping into!
Best regards,
RJ

Just like you motivate and inspire my my friend. Glad I can reciprocate 🙂
Hey VaNessa,
One of the greatest lessons I’ve ever learned is to just throw it up and get it going. Being it good or bad, showing that you can do it and getting something done is always better than nothing.
As for life getting in the way, it happens all the time. The important part is always climbing up back on the horse. Good job!
