It has been very busy in my neck of the woods the last 2 weeks. As promoter for TheBDevent, a Business Development Networking Event for the data storage industry I have been up to my eyeballs in logistics to host 150 executives in California.
Today at 9:45 am I am moderating a discussion on Social Media Techniques for Business. We will be video taping the presentation and I’ll post some video when I have it but in the meantime I thought I’d share a few of the points we’ll be discussing:
1) Be committed to starting and setting your strategy. Before opening up the Twitter or Facebook account for your company know your goals and what you want your outcomes to be.
2) You don’t have to do everything or join every site at once. It can be overwhelming to look at all the options/tools. Being strategic is critical.
3) Understanding where your customers are is critical to your strategy.
4) There are many tools and options out there and if you need help getting going, seek that help, you don’t have to be in this alone.
5) With social media: Do or Do Not, There is No Try.
I’ve got some great guests joining me today and look forward to sharing their thoughts with you soon.
